    Hop On Hop Off Wine Tours has launched the Ultimate Luxury Wine, Beer, Food & Wonders tour in Queenstown. Cruise around in a stylish 10 seater 2022 Mercedes S class (Sprinter). We visit more wineries and breweries than any other company in Queenstown. We offer you a wide selection of venues, from wineries to breweries, and adventure activities, within the Gibbston Valley, Cardrona and Arthurs Point. This luxury tour is designed to ensure you and your group have a full tasting experience without running into the crowds. We book your places!

     

    Starting in the Gibbston Valley, the luxury van will move from stage to stage giving you fresh venues to choose from as you move through the day. Come midday you will have 2 options. Head up over the Crown Range to the gorgeous Cardrona Hotel and Cardrona Distillery where you can enjoy a complimentary tour of the distillery and see where their malt is milled, mashed, fermented, distilled and matured before embarking on a tutored tasting with your guide or, relax at the famous Cardrona Hotel. Alternatively, rather than visiting Cardrona, choose to enjoy the tranquility of Nockies Palette where you can savour a complimentary tasting and a cheese platter. The choice is yours…

     

     

    After the midday stop, the tour will carry on into Arrowtown, then onto Arthurs Point, hitting more of our Hop On Hop Off favourites along the way.No matter how familiar you are with the region and wineries, we will work together to come up with the perfect plan for your day. You will be provided with a full itinerary and all your stops pre-booked so there are no surprises or disappointments.     What’s included ?

    Once the tour leave the Gibbston Valley (Approx 12:15pm) you can choose 1 from the 3 options:

    1) Firstly, to enjoy the tranquillity of Nockies Palette where you will savour a complimentary tasting and cheese platter. Explore their  beautifully manicured gardens and historic church, used in the TV series, “Under The Vines”.

    Your other option is to head up the Crown Range (mountain road with great photo opportunities) where you have the choice of visiting either the gorgeous Cardrona Hotel or Cardrona Distillery.

    2a) At the distillery, enjoy a complimentary G&T on arrival then experience a 75 minute tour to see where their malt is milled, mashed, fermented, distilled and matured, alongside a tutored tasting with your guide.

    2b) Alternatively, relax at the famous Cardrona Hotel with its rustic charm and traditional pub food and enjoy a glass of wine or beer on us. The choice is yours…

    1. AJ Hackett Bungy

    Home of the World’s first Bungy, Kawarau Bridge Bungy is now a historic landmark. “Live More, Fear Less” and do a solo or tandem Bungy over the Kawarau River! They also have a Zipride, café and bar. You are more than welcome to hop off, have coffee or ice cream and watch other people jumping, but if you wish to jump, you will need to book!

     

    2. The Church Cellar Door and Cafe

    The Church Cellar door and Cafe is the latest cellar door to open in the Gibbston Valley. The cellar door is located with in old Presbyterian Church that was built in 1894.

    3. Mt Rosa Wines

    Come and enjoy a fun and friendly wine tasting in Mt Rosa’s renovated wool shed. Enjoy great valley views with a platter. Free case shipping to NZ & Australia.

    Tastings: $20.00 for six wines. The fee is waived with purchases of two or more bottles.

     

    4. Brennan Wines

    Family owned and operated vineyard, winery & cellar door producing limited quantities of finely-aged wines representing the potential of this exceptional wine region. You will find a unique and tasteful experience at Brennan.

    Tastings: $15.00 for 3 x 50ml glasses or 5 x 15ml glasses. The fee is waived with purchases of two or more bottles.

     

    5. Kinross Cellar Door & Bistro

    Kinross’s boutique Vineyard Hotel, Cellar Door & Bistro is the official Cellar Door for a fantastic selection: Coal Pit, Hawkshead, Kinross, Valli & Wild Irishman.

     

    6. Gibbston Tavern

    The historically rich Gibbston Tavern sits in the heart of Central Otago in the deep south of New Zealand and has a rich history going back to the gold mining days of the 1800’s. World class wines and craft beer accompany their delicious menu.

     

    7. Rockburn Wines

    In the art gallery space of the iconic Gibbston Tavern, Rockburn offers award-winning Pinot Noir as well as exceptional quality Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling & Rose.

    8. GT Tasting Room

    A new gin tasting venue within the heart of the Gibbston Valley.

    9. Gibbston Valley Winery

    The Gibbston Valley Winery offers amazing wine, food, tasting and tours in NZ’s largest wine cave.

    10. Nockie’s Palette & Stoneridge Cellar Door (On request)

    Neighbours with a passion for art and making wine, have come together to open a cellar door. As an artist has a palette of paint, they now have a palette of hand crafted wines. Queenstown’s newest cellar door is Nockies Palette.

    12. Cardrona Distillery (On request)

    The Cardrona Distillery creates the finest spirits with pure Alpine water sourced from the heart of Mount Cardrona.

    Cardrona Hotel’s rustic charm, spectacular mountain setting and rich history make it a must see while in Central Otago.

     

    13. Amisfield Bistro & Cellar Door

    Amisfield Bistro serves the signature ‘Trust The Chef’ degustation menu, a 3 to 7 course gastronomic lunch or dinner experience designed to be matched with a selection of their famous wines.

    Tastings: $25 for five tastings. The fee is waived with a bottle purchase. 

     

    14. Mora Wines & Kitchen by Artisan

    Mora Wines & Kitchen by Artisan is one of Queenstown’s premier winery restaurants. Proud to offer an outstanding wine and food experience, located within a beautiful cottage and gardens. Inside and alfresco dining, child friendly.

    Tastings: $10 for five tastings. The fee is waived with a bottle purchase. Mora can host groups of up to 8 people for tastings.

     

    15. Arrowtown

    This little village is an historical gold mining town. Wonderful places to relax, dine and shop. Attractions include the famous Chinese Settlement and Lakes District Museum.

     

    16. The Winery Arrowtown

    The Winery Arrowtown is the largest New Zealand Wine store in the world. Over 80 wines to taste along with whiskey and gin. Tapas and cheese boards available.

Prior to the day:

This is a self guided tour – All tastings are the guests responsibility and at the guests expense. Some wineries will waiver the tasting fee when purchasing wine or beer. We recommend booking for meals prior to the day and bringing water with you to stay hydrated.

All tours have a minimum number of 6 guests for the tours to run. We reserve the right to cancel the tour if this number is not met. A refund or alternative date for the tour will be offered to all guests.

If you would like to book for more than you 8 guests please contact us directly. More than 8 people cannot travel together on our tours without prior arrangement due to logistical reasons and the intimate nature of our selected wineries. We do not allow parties to merge together. If more than 8 people are in one group (and we have not been informed) you will either a) be asked to leave the bus or b) be driven back at a cost of $200.

Anyone under the age of 18 is welcome, however – to consume alcohol you MUST be over the legal drinking age. You may be asked to produce a Government issued ID to prove your age. A child’s tickets can be purchased for those under 13 years.

On the Day:

Please be at your pick up stop 5 minutes prior to the departure time. Hop on Hop off does not take any responsibility for lateness.

We recommend no more than 8 guests hop off at any given winery/brewery – this is to ensure a more intimate and enjoyable experience.

Our buses are not licensed which means alcohol cannot be consumed whilst on the bus. We follow strict duty of care protocols which may result in the stoppage of a guest’s tour when not followed. The removal of the offending passenger in the event of consuming alcohol, intoxication or disrespectful behaviour may occur. A fine will be charged for any event which causes cleaning such as spillage or soiling the bus ($200).

You will be provided with a wristband and a map of the stops/the route on the day with the allocated timetable. Use the wristband to unlock Hop on Hop off specials at selected venues (see the website for further information).

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations received more than 14 days prior to departure are fully refunded.

Cancellation received less than 14 days prior to departure will be charged full price. Upon communication with the booking team, we will endeavor to offer a new date for your Hop on Hop off Wine Tour.

If you cancel within the 14 day period your tickets are non-refundable, if you cancel outside this time frame, you will receive a full refund.
