Hop on Hop off Wine Tours Nelson run every Friday – Sunday from 10am – 6pm with easy pick-up and drop-off at the Millers Acre Car Park (Behind River Kitchen - Halifax St).
Our Full Day Nelson Wine Tour allows you to stop at some great locations. Try some local wines, enjoy a scenic drive and indulge in some local produce!
Please be aware: At present our map/timetable has only 1 return, returning at 5.55pm.
This tour is a long day (7 hours), purely due to the large area the region covers and driving times between venues.

Have a close look at all the stops below as a lot of them require bookings in advance. We have attached all their contact details for you. We always recommend pre booking lunch. We would also recommend pre booking some tastings on the weekend.
Groups of 8 or more are welcome on our tours but please call us on 0800 6937 2273 and let us know which wineries you have booked. This is due to logistics and numbers in our buses. We advise larger groups to pre book tastings in order to avoid disappointment.

River Kitchen is situated on the banks of the Maitai River, in the heart of the city centre of Nelson. You can sit back and relax, away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy our terrace in the sun, or find a cosy chair inside. We specialise in delicious, seasonally inspired food, craft beers, wines from around New Zealand, and locally roasted coffee. We offer a full à la carte menu, serving breakfast and lunch all year round.

Eddyline is about being a comfortable place to stop, relax, and catch up. Eddyline comes from the line separating the fast flowing current in a river from the eddy where the water slows allowing kayakers to stop, rest, catch up, and celebrate their victories. A family-friendly, unpretentious and casual brewpub serving wood-fired pizzas and the best craft beers brewed on site. Be sure to try a sample tray.

The friendly staff at The Junction will help you choose the perfect cheese and cut it fresh from the wheel. You can also fill your own Milk, Olive Oil, Smoked Olives, Mushrooms, Tomatoes, and Chillies as well as Honey so you can get exactly the quantity you need for your trip. Snacks and meals which are easy to transport and perfect for tramping are also available.

Te Mānia (the Maori name for “The Plains”) is a family-owned Nelson winery, located near the beautiful coastline of Tasman Bay. The vineyards flourish on the ancient alluvial terraces through which rivers flow from the mountains to the sea. The stony soils, combined with Nelson’s cool maritime climate and high sunshine hours, produce grapes and wines of the finest quality. Be sure to check out the world largest grapevine rugby ball!

Eyebright has been producing everlasting flowers for thirty five years. The much loved Eyebright Country Store is set in a beautiful garden close to Richmond, Nelson. Find New Zealand’s biggest range of dried flowers here! All visitors receive a tasting of Lemon Honey and Ginger or alcohol-free mulled wine!

Enjoy a tasting of some of the finest wines at Seifried and see why Nelson is such a special place to grow and make wine. With a selection of both current and cellar release wines available, and some of the most interesting wines open for tasting, it’s a wonderful place to challenge your senses and try something new. Knowledgeable and friendly cellar door staff can take you through a line-up of wines and answer any questions regarding the viticulture and winemaking techniques used.

A small cafe, located in Heaphy Vineyard in the beautiful Tasman region. North Eatery serves sourdough style pizzas, vegetables and plates using sustainable and organic produce sourced from small local farms. Their goal is to bring the best food and wine, in a comfortable setting.

Forsters offers a fabulous dining experience with dishes prepared by award winning chef Alistair Forster. Alistair is a New Zealand Lamb & Beef Ambassador and together with his wife Fiona they have created a stunning restaurant overlooking the vines and neighbouring hops. The tasting room operates from Forsters restaurant where you can sample wines on offer before choosing the perfect match for your food. The cellar door/tasting room is open the same hours as the restaurant.

New Zealand’s Oldest Pub, in its original building, established in 1850. Since 2008, the Inn has been a craft beer freehouse with 13 rotating taps. All wines are sourced within 10km of the Inn and quality pub meals are made from scratch in the Moutere Kitchen.

Gravity Winery Cellar Door offers visitors a wine journey through New Zealand’s top wine growing regions, right here in sunny Tasman. Our Tavern’s proudly serve the entire range of Sprig + Fern Brewing Co’s multiple award-winning craft beers and ciders in proper imperial pints, but that’s not the only thing that makes our Taverns a bit different.
We have no TVs, pokie machines or pool tables in our taverns, so you can enjoy good old conversation and human interaction, along with classic pub snacks and food.

Prior to the day:
This is a self guided tour – All tastings are the guests responsibility and at the guests expense. Some wineries will waiver the tasting fee when purchasing wine. We recommend booking lunch prior to the day and bringing water with you to stay hydrated.
All tours have a minimum number of 6 guests for the tours to run. We reserve the right to cancel the tour if this number is not met. A refund or alternative date for the tour will be offered to all guests.
If you would like to book for more than 8 guests please contact us directly. More than 8 people cannot travel together on our tours without prior arrangement due to logistical reasons and the intimate nature of our selected wineries. We do not allow parties to merge together. If more than 8 people are in one group you will either a) be asked to leave the bus or b) be driven back at a cost of $200.
Anyone under the age of 18 is welcome, however – to consume alcohol you MUST be over the legal drinking age. You may be asked to produce a Government issued ID to prove your age. A child’s tickets can be purchased for those under 13 years.
On the Day:
Please be at your pick up stop 5 minutes prior to the departure time. Hop on Hop off does not take any responsibility for lateness.
We recommend no more than 8 guests hop off at any given winery – this is to ensure a more intimate and enjoyable experience.
Our buses are not licensed which means alcohol cannot be consumed whilst on the bus. We follow strict duty of care protocols which may result in the stoppage of a guest’s tour when not followed. The removal of the offending passenger in the event of consuming alcohol, intoxication or disrespectful behaviour may occur. A fine will be charged for any event which causes cleaning such as spillage or soiling the bus ($200).
You will be provided with a wristband and a map of the stops/the route on the day with the allocated timetable. Use the wristband to unlock Hop on Hop off specials at selected venues (see the website for further information).
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations received more than 14 days prior to departure are fully refunded.
Cancellation received less than 14 days prior to departure will be charged full price. Upon communication with the booking team, we will endeavor to offer a new date for your Hop on Hop off Wine Tour.
If you cancel within the 14 day period your tickets are non-refundable, if you cancel outside this time frame, you will receive a full refund.
